Cathy CookStrategic Communications

Cathy has been a strategic communications consultant for 30 years. Her clients, including Opts Ideas, range from large, multi-national corporations, Fortune Magazine, the MIT Lab for Computer Science, to numerous high tech startups. In addition, she has worked on a number of conferences aiding the producers with speaker and topic suggestions guided by her wide-ranging knowledge and strong relationships across many fields.

As a journalist junkie, she has an uncanny nose for what makes a good story, and has been a guest lecturer at both Stanford and Berkeley journalism schools. With a degree in public policy, she also has a sense of the “big picture” and an eye to potential global externalities that are often unknown or overlooked by her clients.
She lives in Bolinas, a small seaside town outside San Francisco, allowing her to kayak, hike, collect shells and shuck oysters.
